Porsche has launched the Taycan 4S Black Edition in India, priced at ₹2.07 crore (ex-showroom). This new version costs around ₹11 lakh more than the standard Taycan 4S and targets buyers who prefer a sportier design with premium features. Like the Cayenne Black Edition, it features unique exterior and interior upgrades while retaining the same high-performance EV platform.

Price and Positioning
The Taycan 4S Black Edition is priced at ₹2.07 crore, while the standard Taycan 4S costs ₹1.96 crore. The additional ₹11 lakh covers exclusive styling elements and extra standard equipment. However, the final price can increase further with optional paint shades and accessory packages.
Exterior Design
This edition stands out with its all-black theme. It features a high-gloss black finish on the front bumper, rear diffuser, side skirts, and Porsche badges. The 21-inch Aero
Design wheels, also in black, enhance its sporty appeal. Dark-tinted LED headlights add to its aggressive look. Buyers can select from 13 paint options, with premium shades costing between ₹5.11 lakh and ₹32.18 lakh.

Interior and Features
Inside, the car gets Black Race-Tex and leatherette upholstery. The cabin includes a panoramic sunroof, 14-way adjustable seats, and a Bose 710W surround sound system. A four-zone climate control system ensures comfort for all passengers. Optional features include a passenger-side display and dual-tone interior choices. Compared to the standard Taycan 4S, the Black Edition comes with more features as standard, including a larger battery and premium tech.
Performance and Range
The Taycan 4S Black Edition shares its powertrain with the regular 4S. It uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup and a 105 kWh battery (97 kWh usable). It delivers 590 bhp (with overboost) and 710 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The top speed is 230 km/h, and the WLTP-certified range goes up to 668 km. Fast charging (320 kW DC) enables 10% to 80% charge in just 18 minutes.
Ride and Comfort
Equipped with adaptive air suspension, the Taycan 4S Black Edition offers a smooth and stable ride on both city roads and highways. The cabin is spacious, with rear legroom and boot space ranging from 366 to 491 litres, plus a front trunk. The ride comfort and practicality remain the same as the standard model but feel more premium due to added features.
Safety
Safety features include 10 airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, and advanced driver-assistance systems like lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. These features are identical to those found in the standard Taycan 4S.
Maintenance and Efficiency
Running costs are lower than petrol vehicles, but parts and service are premium due to Porsche’s branding. The Black Edition may cost slightly more to maintain due to its exclusive styling. Energy consumption is rated at 16.5–20.1 kWh/100 km, making home charging the most economical option.
Conclusion
The Taycan 4S Black Edition is ideal for EV buyers who want a bold, stylish electric sports car with strong performance and premium features. While the standard Taycan 4S is more affordable and offers the same performance, the Black Edition stands out with its distinctive look and added luxury.
