Maruti Escudo: New Mid-Size SUV Launching on September 3

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its new mid-size SUV, Maruti Escudo, on 3 September 2025. This SUV will be positioned between Maruti’s popular Brezza and Grand Vitara,

Design and positioning
Talking about the design, Escudo can be seen with Grand Vitara-inspired elements like split LED headlights and connected LED taillights.
Maruti Escudo will be a 5-seater mid-size SUV, its length is expected to be between 4,330 to 4,365 mm, which will make it slightly longer than the Grand Vitara. Which will make it slightly longer than the Grand Vitara. Its boot space is also likely to be more than the Grand Vitara’s 373 liters.

Engine and Performance
1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine: This engine will generate 103 bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. It will come with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
In the CNG option, this engine will produce 88 bhp of power and 121 Nm of torque, making it economical and eco-friendly. The mileage of the CNG variant can be up to 26-27 km/kg.
Hybrid option: According to some reports, a 116 bhp strong hybrid variant can also be offered, which will come with an e-CVT transmission. However, the hybrid is less likely to be available, so that the price can be kept affordable.
The mileage of the petrol variant is expected to be 17-19 kmpl, which is similar to the Maruti Brezza and Grand Vitara.
