Gonda Tragedy: 11 Killed, Including 3 Children
In a heart-wrenching tragedy in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district, 11 people, including three children, lost their lives when an SUV carrying 15 passengers plunged into the Saryu canal on Sunday morning.

The vehicle, traveling from Sihagaon village to the Prithvinath Temple in Khargupur, skidded off a rain-slicked road near Belwa Bahuta under the Itia Thok Police Station limits. Authorities suspect the slippery conditions, caused by early morning showers, contributed to the accident.
The victims, identified as Beena (35), Kajal (22), Mehak (12), Durgesh, Nandini, Ankit, Shubh, Sanju Verma, Anju, Anusuya, and Saumya, included nine members of a single family. Four passengers survived but sustained injuries, with two in critical condition, and are receiving treatment at a local hospital. Local residents and police acted swiftly, launching a rescue operation to retrieve the bodies and the submerged vehicle from the canal.
