A Strategic Location for a Growing Market

Chennai, known for its rich industrial heritage, skilled workforce, and advanced infrastructure, was a natural choice for VinFast’s largest dealership in India. The Teynampet showroom, strategically positioned in one of the city’s prominent areas, is designed to offer a premium brand experience, showcasing VinFast’s cutting-edge electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7. These models, which are the first right-hand drive versions launched globally, cater to Indian consumers seeking sustainable, high-tech, and stylish mobility solutions.

Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating, “Chennai’s legacy and its thriving ecosystem of innovation, skilled talent, and advanced infrastructure make it a natural choice for VinFast’s first-ever dealership in Tamil Nadu, which is also our largest touchpoint across the country. Through our partnership with Maansarovar Motors, we aim to redefine the EV ownership journey—combining sustainability, technology, and world-class service.”

Showcasing Premium Electric SUVs

The Chennai showroom serves as a physical touchpoint for customers to explore VinFast’s premium electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7. These models, unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, are designed to appeal to young professionals, families, and eco-conscious commuters. The VF 6 is powered by a 59.6kWh battery pack, delivering 204hp, while the VF 7 offers both 204hp dual-wheel drive and 350hp all-wheel drive variants, with a 70.8kWh battery. Both models feature advanced amenities such as a 12.9-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, seven airbags, a Level 2 ADAS suite, dual-zone climate control, and a large glass roof, positioning them as competitive players in India’s growing EV market.

Pre-bookings for the VF 6 and VF 7 commenced on July 15, 2025, with a fully refundable booking amount of ₹21,000. Customers can reserve their vehicles either at the Chennai showroom or online via VinFastAuto.in, ensuring a seamless and low-risk purchasing process. The vehicles will be locally assembled at VinFast’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, which is set to be inaugurated on August 4, 2025, further solidifying the company’s commitment to local production and economic growth.

Ambitious Expansion and Ecosystem Development

The Chennai showroom is a key part of VinFast’s aggressive expansion strategy, which includes establishing 35 dealerships across 27 cities in India by the end of 2025. This rapid rollout aims to create a robust retail and service network, bringing premium electric mobility closer to Indian consumers. The company’s first showroom in Surat, Gujarat, opened on July 27, 2025, spanning 3,000 square feet, and set the stage for this nationwide expansion.

To support its growing presence, VinFast has forged strategic partnerships with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to establish a comprehensive nationwide network for charging infrastructure and after-sales services. Additionally, the company has collaborated with Indian clean-tech startup BatX Energies to promote battery recycling and develop a circular battery value chain, aligning with its sustainability goals and India’s push for greener transportation.

A Commitment to India’s Green Future

VinFast’s entry into India is not just about selling electric vehicles but about fostering a sustainable and future-ready mobility ecosystem. The company’s $2 billion investment in its Thoothukudi manufacturing unit, which broke ground in February 2024, is expected to generate 3,000 to 3,500 jobs and cater to markets in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. This facility, combined with VinFast’s focus on local assembly and strategic partnerships, positions the company as a key player in India’s EV revolution.

“Chennai represents the spirit of progress,” said Pham Sanh Chau. “This showroom is not just a retail milestone but a meaningful step toward co-creating a greener, smarter, and future-ready India.”

As VinFast continues to expand its footprint and integrate into India’s automotive landscape, the Chennai showroom stands as a testament to the company’s vision of making premium electric mobility accessible to all. With its focus on innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric service, VinFast is poised to redefine the EV ownership experience in India.
