Kawasaki KLX 230 Price Slashed to ₹1.99 Lakh in India

Kawasaki India has reduced the price of its 2026 KLX 230 dual-sport motorcycle by 1.30 lakh rupees and now the ex-showroom price is very attractive at 1.99 lakh rupees down from 3.30 lakh rupees earlier. This massive cut, which was announced on August 13, 2025, can be attributed mainly to the fact that the company is shifting to producing the bike in India, and not importing them as completely built-up (CBU) units, and thus the bike will be more affordable to off-road riders and will be a viable competitor to the Hero Xpulse 210.

The KLX 230 has been kept mechanically the same, but has the features that are ready to go trail riding. It uses a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces around 19 hp at 8,000 rpm and 19 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm and gets a six-speed gearbox. Such a configuration provides good low- to mid-range torque that would be used in technical trails. The lightweight 139 kg kerb weight contributes to the bikes agility and it is one of the best in the off-road segment.

It has a high-tensile steel perimeter frame, the 37mm telescopic fork with 220mm travel at the front and Uni-Trak-linked monoshock with 223mm travel at the rear. It is mounted on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres with a ground clearance of 265mm to overcome rough surfaces. A 290mm front petal disc and a 230mm rear disc have been provided with single channel ABS which is switchable off when riding off road.

The KLX 230 is visually minimalist in design with KX-inspired bodywork, slim 7.6-litre fuel tank, and flat seat to allow rider mobility. It comes in two different colors such as Lime Green and Battle Grey. The bike is also fitted with LED headlamp and LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity which can read out the important readings such as speed, odometer, fuel gauge and clock.

The KLX 230 is priced reasonably, and it competes with the Hero Xpulse 210 that has a starting price of Rs 1.76 lakh. Although the Xpulse has a more potent 210cc liquid-cooled unit (24 bhp, 21 Nm), it is heavier (170 kg) than the nimble handling KLX. Produced locally with new features, KLX 230 will be appealing to both a new and experienced rider willing to pay an affordable price to have a versatile dual-purpose motorcycle. It will start delivering in October 2025, and it can be booked at Kawasaki dealerships in India.
